Enel Green Power has connected to the grid the 30MW Dois Riachos wind farm located in Bahia in north-eastern Brazil.
Dois Riachos is the first part of the 118MW Serra Azul wind power complex to start operations.
The complex will consist of three additional wind farms: Damascena (30MW), Maniçoba (30MW) and Esperança (28MW).
Serra Azul is held by Parque Eolico Serra Azul, a subsidiary of Enel Brasil Participaçoes.
The energy generated by the complex will mainly be sold through power supply contracts on the regulated market.
EGP is investing approximately $220m in the construction of Serra Azul.
The investment is being partially financed with loans from International Finance Corporation, a World Bank Group member, and Itaù Unibanco.
