Nordex has scooped an order for a second helping of N90 2.5MW turbines at Pennant Walters’ extension of its Pant y Wal wind farm near Bridgend.
As reported in the subscription reNEWS newsletter in August, eight N90 Gamma turbines with a combined capacity of 20MW will be supplied for the Welsh project.
The eight machines will feature 80-metre hubs and 125-metre tips, both 10 metres larger than the 10 N90s deployed at the original site 4km north of the village of Glynogwr.
In addition to the contract for the delivery of the turbines, Pennant Walters has signed a 15-year premium service contract with Nordex. Pant y Wal 2 is scheduled to go into operation in March 2017.
