UK-based services company 3sun Group has hired a new recruitment co-ordinator to deal with growing demand for talent in the wind sector.
Luke Pallett will help source the extra manpower needed for turbine generator pre-assembly installation, servicing and inspection projects, 3sun said.
The company’s ranks have swollen by 100 since February to more than 400, with demand for new recruits still rising.
It is targeting oil and gas workers made redundant since prices tumbled and ex-military personnel.
“We seek candidates close to sites to ensure local jobs for local people.” Pallett said.
Candidates with mechanical and electrical skills, but no turbine or offshore experience, can be put through training at 3sun, he said.
