SeaState Aviation has inspected the helideck of A2Sea jack-up vessel Sea Challenger in preparation for work on Statoil’s 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm off the UK’s Norfolk coast.
As well as the inspection to meet UK offshore helideck requirements, SeaState also audited operational manuals and procedures for helicopter operations.
SeaState managing director Johan Hansen said: “Due to the increasing use of helicopters in the offshore wind industry, helidecks on jack-up vessels, offshore substation and SOV’s are more of less becoming industry standard.
“There are clear requirements for offshore helidecks, and we see an increasing demand for our services related to inspection of helidecks, providing assurance to helicopter operators, vessel owners, wind farm developers and OEM’s that their helidecks and heli-hoist platform fulfil national regulations and the International Civil Aviation Organization’s requirements.”
