A2Sea jack-up Sea Challenger is preparing to set sail from the UK port of Hull to begin turbine installation at Statoil’s 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm off Norfolk.
The vessel is at Siemens’ manufacturing and pre-assembly facility at Alexandra Dock where towers and blades are being loaded.
Sea Challenger will make its way to the Dudgeon project site shortly to begin turbine installation. The wind farm will feature 67 Siemens 6MW turbines.
Each of the project’s turbines will be commissioned straight after installation and the project team is aiming for a mid-year completion date.
All 67 Sif-made monopile foundations and transition pieces, and an offshore substation, were installed at the site last year.
