Heerema vessel Aegir has started installing jacket foundations at ScottishPower Renewable’s 714 MW East Anglia 1 wind farm off the Norfolk coast in England.
The ship began a charter with foundation installation contractor Van Oord last week.
The Dutch marine contractor said Aegir will install jackets at the project during summer and autumn this year.
Twelve of the project’s 102 three-legged jackets have been installed at the project so far.
Van Oord is also using Boskalis crane vessel Bokalift 1 to install piles and jackets.
The foundations will feature 102 Siemens 7MW wind turbines, which are due to be installed next year.
