Akrocean has completed a 12-month metocean campaign for Danish transmission system operator Energinet to collect data for the 800MW Thor offshore wind farm off Denmark.
The floating lidar Windsea is now back in France after spending a whole year at sea measuring data offshore Denmark.
The collected data will be provided to offshore wind tenderers for the Thor project.
The tender winner will be announced by end of 2021.
Energinet had been tasked by the Danish Energy Agency to initiate floating lidar measurements at the Thor site.
Energinet chief engineer environment and geoscience Jan Havsager said: “Energinet has enjoyed working together with Akrocean.
“Akrocean has delivered wind and oceanic data with high quality and has provided agile operational competences in difficult Covid-19 circumstances.”
