EnBW expects to complete installation of all 16 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines at its 112MW Albatros wind farm in the German North Sea this month.
“Since the installation depends on the weather and other conditions, we cannot determine a date when the turbines will be fully installed, but probably before the end of the month,” said the company.
The last four units are being installed by Siemens Gamesa’s installation contractor Fred Olsen Windcarrier.
The company’s jack-up installation vessels Brave Tern and Blue Tern are installing the turbines in tandem, said the company.
The Albatros/Hohe See complex features a total of 87 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines that will provide 609MW of installed capacity.
A total of 71 turbines are installed at Hohe See, with 66 connected up and feeding electricity to the grid.
Both wind farms are expected to be fully operational in 2019, the company said.
About 50 ships and more than 600 employees have been involved in the construction work which is coordinated by the EnBW offshore subsidiary in Hamburg.
