A fishing vessel which collided with a Vestas V90 turbine at the 90MW Barrow offshore wind farm off the Cumbria coast has been towed into shallow water off Walney Island.
The catamaran vessel struck a turbine base at the Dong Energy project in the early hours of Thursday morning and began taking on water.
All three crew were rescued by the Barrow lifeboat with one man transferred to Furness General Hospital with a head injury.
An RNLI spokesman said the fishing vessel has been moored in a safe location near Walney after the crew of the lifeboat Grace Dixon returned to the scene once the men had been brought ashore. It is not clear if the vessel (pictured) is salvageable.
Operator Dong has shut down the turbine as it carried out an inspection of the hardware for any damage from the collision. The remaining V90s are unaffected.
