Rhenus Logistics has taken delivery at its facility in Rotterdam of a purpose built 700-tonne pile installation frame (PIF) ahead of deployment to the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland.
Contractor NAMI manufactured the PIF and transported it by barge along the Maas river to the Rhenus facility.
The PIF was offloaded to the quayside by the 2500-tonne capacity crane on the Seaway Heavy Lifting vessel Stanislav Yudin.
The PIF and the Stanislav Yudin will undergo a series of integration tests over the next two weeks before mobilising to begin offshore construction work at the start of April.
