G-Tec has wrapped up geotechnical studies at the site of EDF Energies Nouvelles’ proposed 24MW Provence Grand Large floating offshore wind farm off the coast of France.
The Belgian company deployed Foselev’s DP vessel Castor 2 to carry out the work, which included 20-metre deep core penetration and dissipation tests.
The project will be located off Fos-sur-Mer in the Mediterranean Sea and is scheduled to be up and running in late 2020 or early 2021.
It will feature three 8MW Siemens Gamesa turbines with the floating foundations provided by SBM Offshore and IFP Energies Nouvelles.
