Bladt Industries has completed the first load-out of jacket foundations for Iberdrola’s 350MW Wikinger offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
The Danish fabricator said “all went according to plan” and the barge has left its facilities at Lindø Industripark for Sassnitz in Germany.
The foundations have a weight of approximately 650 tons and have a footprint of 23 x 23 metres each, Bladt said.
The jackets will be installed in water depths of up to 42 metres.
Bladt has built 41 four-legged jackets and 164 piles for Wikinger, with Navantia Shipyards in Spain responsible for the other 29 foundations.
The wind farm will consist of 70 Adwen 5MW turbines and is scheduled to come online next year.
