Blue Water USA is providing hub logistics services to General Electric in the Port of Providence for the 30MW Block Island offshore wind farm located off US east coast.
The services include heavy lift and storage of turbine components, as well as warehouse management and support activities related to tower assembly.
Blue Water is also transporting wind turbine components, including the tower sections from Aviles in Spain and the blades from Denmark.
Deepwater Wind is developing the project located three miles off the coast of Block Island in Rhode Island
The wind farm is scheduled to come online at the end of 2016.
