Shipping company Blue Water’s stevedores department has started demobilisation work at the 288MW Sandbank offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The company was contracted by Bilfinger Marine & Offshore Systems to carry out loading work in connection with the installation of 72 monopiles and transition pieces for the project.
Foundation installation is now complete at the wind farm.
Part of the demobilisation work will involve returning the world’s largest hydraulic hammer, Menck’s MHU3500S, to Menck.
Blue Water has chartered a vessel to transport the hammer from Esbjerg to Lindo. Here, Blue Water Lindo will receive the hammer for storage until its next project.
