Blue Water Shipping has secured a deal with Siemens Gamesa for the transport and handling of turbine components for four offshore wind farms.
The contract covers components for 183 machines for the Hohe See, Albatros, Borssele 1&2 projects in Europe and the Coastal Virginia development in the US.
Blue Water said the first of 47 shipments from Esbjerg has been completed, with the remainder to be carried out this year and next.
Blue Water head of port operation services Soren Messmann said: “We are very pleased and proud of being entrusted with this assignment by Siemens Gamesa Offshore.
“It is a very important project for us and contributes to maintaining and strengthening our position within logistics and stevedoring to the wind turbine industry.
“We know that our extensive experience and strong competences mean a lot to our clients in relation to the entire logistics flow.”
