The jacket foundation for TenneT’s first offshore substation at the Borssele 1 wind farm zone has been installed at the project site off the coast of the Netherlands.
TenneT said that partly because of good weather the “positioning and anchoring of the jacket was carried out in a very short time”.
It added that the structure is 55 metres high and weighs about 2730 tonnes.
TenneT project manager for Borssele Juan van Beek said: “By placing the jacket another important milestone has been realised for the Borssele project. After this, the offshore cables will be installed and the land station.
“So everything is on schedule to have the connection ready in August 2019 and to connect (Orsted’s wind farm).”
