Boskalis has been awarded a contract to transport and install turbine foundations for Dong’s 1.2GW Hornsea 1 wind farm off the UK east coast.
The marine contractor said it had won “part” of the work that will be carried out by a new crane vessel the company will launch for the job. It declined to provide further details.
Boskalis will equip the vessel with a 3000-tonne mast crane.
Hornsea will feature 174 Siemens 7MW wind turbines to be installed by A2Sea and Fred Olsen from spring 2019.
