Dutch outfit C-Bed has deployed its DP2 walk-to-work accommodation vessel Wind Innovation on an offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The vessel has been supporting installation and commissioning activity at Trianel’s 200MW Borkum West 2.2 project since July, the company said.
It added that Wind Innovation is serving as the project base camp to ensure work is carried out in an “efficient and timely manner”.
C-bed is using Eemshaven as base port for crew change and the loading of fresh supplies throughout the project.
C-Bed managing director Jesper Nielsen said: “We are pleased that C-bed continues to be the preferred choice for offshore accommodation.
“Since taking delivery of Wind Innovation in 2016, we have continuously felt a strong demand from clients due to her superior operational weather workability, 80 single cabins for technicians, unique cargo handling setup with a sheltered cargo area and our best-in-class accommodation services.”
Borkum West 2.2 features 32 Senvion 6.3MW turbines and is located 45km north of Borkum.
It is expected to be fully online later this year.
