Chinese company Guodian Power has started commercial operations at the 252MW Zhejiang Zhoushan offshore wind farm in the east China Sea.
The project, which took just over two years to build, features 63 Siemens Gamesa turbines with 130-meter rotors, according to the developer.

The units sit on “high capacity” jacket foundations designed to withstand strong wave currents in the area where there is also challenging seabed conditions.
Guodian Power said it is the first time this type of foundations have been deployed off China.
Zhejiang Zhoushan is located 12km south of Liuheng island and is the first project developed by Guodian Power.
