The Vents de Dunkerque consortium, which is bidding for the rights to build the 600MW Dunkirk offshore wind project off France, has appointed Lydia Schot as president.
Schot (pictured), who has most recently worked in the sector for consortium member Eneco, will lead the group’s work on tender pricing and deadlines.
“I am very honoured to become President of Vents de Dunkerque. For more than 15 years, I put my commitment and my energy at the service of renewable energies,” she said.
“The project carried out by Vents de Dunkerque for the offshore wind farm off Dunkirk is ambitious, and I am convinced of the relevance and the strength of our application, because our consortium has real competitive advantages to achieve the objectives set by the government.”
Boralex, Van Oord and Diamond Generating Europe are the remaining companies in the consortium.
It is competing against several other bidders, including a group involving Orsted, Total and Elicio, for the zone.
The French government is expected to announce a winner in the summer.
