NHC Northern Helicopter has completed the first staff transfer flight at the 400MW Global Tech 1 wind farm in the German North Sea.
The company has a one-year contract from Global Tech 1 for crew change flights, which take place every Friday.
NHC uses an Airbus H155 machine for the 35-minute flight.
The wind farm’s offshore substation platform, located some 140km north-west of Emden, is permanently manned by about 40 people.
The Global Tech 1 contract is the first of its kind for NHC.
The logistics firm previously focused on ambulance flights at offshore wind projects.
