NHC Northern Helicopter is to take over rescue operations fo the Veja Mate, Nordergrund, Butendiek and Bard Offshore 1 offshore wind farms in the German North Sea from 1 August.
The deal is for three years, with an option for a further two years, and covers air rescue for a total of 245 turbines and coordination via an emergency control centre.
The contract is with Veja Mate Offshore Project, OWP Nordergrund, OWP Butendiek and Ocean Breeze Energy.
NHC Northern Helicopter said it has specialised in acute and emergency medical care and the transport of injured and sick people from offshore wind farms in both the North and Baltic Seas for more than 10 years.
Each of the company’s offshore rescue helicopters carry modern emergency medical equipment, including ventilator, mobile ultrasound and monitoring.
The flying crew consists of two pilots and a winch operator, while the medical crew consists of an emergency medic and doctor.
