Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has agreed 20-year power purchase agreements with state utility Taipower for projects totalling almost 900MW in Taiwan.
The Danish developer signed the off-take deals for the 300MW Chongneng, 542MW Changfang and 48MW Xidao wind farms, as reported in today’s issue of subscriber-only reNEWS.
CIP opted for tiered tariff of NT$6279 per megawatt-hour (€179/MWh) for 10 years and NT$4142/MWh for the remaining 10 years, according to a Taipower spokesman.
The 100MW Changfang 1 is due online in 2021 to be followed by the 452MW second phase in 2023.
The 300MW Chongneng, which is being developed alongside China Steel, and 48MW Xidao are slated for delivery in 2024.
MHI Vestas is the preferred supplier for turbines for the projects.
CIP will now apply for construction permits, a process that could take between three and six months, according to industry sources.
