Work is progressing on CS Wind’s new offshore wind turbine tower facility and upgrade to its onshore factory in Scotland.
Danish energy giant Dong Energy supported investment in the new factory, which will be the first UK facility to manufacture towers for the offshore wind market.
Dong has “preferred access rights” to wind turbine towers that will be built at the new plant, while Siemens has awarded CS Wind UK “preferred supplier status” for multiple offshore projects.
However, the company announced in February that it was cutting its 154-strong UK workforce by about one-third due to the slowdown of the country’s onshore wind sector.
