CNOOD-Wenchong Heavy Industries (CWHI) has reached the final stage of constructing the second phase of an XXXL monopile factory in Guangxi, China.
The facility (pictured), in CWHI’s Qinzhou yard will be completed in November.
With a total area of approximately 430,000 square metres, the new facility has an annual production capacity of 96 XXXL monopiles (with a maximum diameter of 15 metres and a maximum weight of 4500 tonnes) delivered via offshore wind power XXXL monopile foundation production lines.
The equipment makes the factory one of the largest steel structure workshops in China.
The second structural workshop delivered for the phase two construction measures 400 metres in length.
Additional features include a 307 metre-long, 13 metre-deep quayside, capable of accommodating vessels up to and including 100,000 tonne ships, and a load bearing capacity of 20T/sq m.
