The Danish Energy Agency has approved the feasibility report for the 165MW Lillebaelt Syd offshore wind project.
The approval allows the developer, European Energy, to move on to the next steps in the application process, including applying for a construction permit.
With the approval, the Danish Energy Agency has assessed the feasibility report meets the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act for content.
The Danish Energy Agency will not make a final decision on whether an establishment permit can be granted for the project until a public consultation has been carried out on the developer’s application for an establishment permit.
If the developer chooses to apply for an establishment permit, the application for an establishment permit, the approved environmental impact report with relevant annexes, a draft of the Danish Energy Agency’s establishment decision and the consultation note from the completed public consultation of the environmental impact report must be submitted for eight weeks of public consultation.
The consultation is expected to start at the end of February.
Lillebaelt Syd comprises the installation of 10 to 23 offshore turbines within a total feasibility study area of 32 square kilometres.
The machines are to be located between Als and Helaes on Funen.
