RWE Renewables is investigating the potential for repowering the Lundakra wind farm in Sweden.
The site is next to a recycling centre in Landskrona.
A consultation regarding the repowering will be open until 31 March 2024.
RWE Renewables’ consultation will provide information about the planned wind farm and to offer authorities, individuals and the general public the opportunity to contribute information and opinions.
Parts of the consultation document are on display at Landskrona City Library during the period of 15 February to 7 March.
The wind farm’s seaside location in Lundakra Bay has optimal conditions for producing wind power.
Between 1992 and 1995, the city of Landskrona erected two turbines, which were later sold to Sydkraft (later E.On).
In 2002, two new machines were erected and in 2008 and the two original units were replaced with more modern models.
RWE took over the operation in 2019 in connection with the sale of E.On’s wind power operations in Sweden to the company and has local service personnel who manage the operation of the turbines.
In the repowering three machines are proposed, with a total height of 225 metres, and an installed capacity of 21MW.
