Danish trade body Wind Denmark has called on the country’s government to urgently allocate funding for the development of two additional offshore wind farms by 2030.
Wind Denmark said that despite the government saying it wants two more wind farms built on top of the three also planned, there has been no allocation of additional funding for the extra projects in a proposed finance bill.
“This is potentially a problem, as it is urgent to plan and determine the two additional parks if they are to be established by 2030 without the risk of bottlenecks,” Wind Denmark said.
Wind Denmark’s political chief Martin Risum Bondergaard called for funding to be included in the finance bill and said that if the government does not allocate finance the country would “probably” miss the opportunity to realise its ambitions this side of 2030.
