DEME’s DP3 installation vessel Orion has installed the jacket for TenneT’s Hollandse Kust West Alpha offshore wind substation in the North Sea off the Dutch coast.
The topside of the substation weighs 2,300 tonnes and a height of 49 metres, according to DEME.

The offshore substation topside will be installed by DEME Offshore in 2023.
The substation is an essential part of the offshore grid and will transmit 700MW of renewable energy generated by the Hollandse Kust West Alpha wind farm to the mainland as from 2024.
This was the third offshore wind project carried out with Orion this summer, DEME added.
