Six applications have been submitted for permits to build offshore wind farm within the designated Livonian 1 and Livonian 2 areas off Estonia.
The developers that have submitted applications are Liivi Offshore, Aker Offshore Wind Europe, Viru Keemia Grupp, Sunly Wind, Edel Offshore Wind as well as Ignitis Renewables Projektai 6 and CI NMF Estonia Sea I HoldCo, which submitted a joint application.
They join Utilitas Wind which submitted an application for a building permit in April 2020 initially, which was updated in June of this year.
The Technical Regulatory Authority will check the compliance of all submitted competing applications with the provisions of the Building Code and then forward them to the relevant state authorities for an opinion.
After receiving feedback from state authorities, the Technical Regulatory Authority will assess the applications in accordance with the guidelines established by law.
For applications that meet the requirements, an auction shall be held no later than 60 days after the approval of the results of the evaluation of the applications.
The first auction is expected to take place in November or December of this year.
In the case of applications that do not meet the requirements, the Technical Regulatory Authority will issue a refusal.
The area of Livonian 1 is about 77 km² and the starting price for the auction of this area is about €1.15m.
The area of Livonian 2 is about 115 km² and its starting price for the auction of this area is about €1.7m.
The winner of the auction will be the participant submitting the highest bid.
