DNV has been chosen by Norwegian authorities to carry out a strategic impact assessment for 20 locations for offshore wind.
While DNV’s assessment will be conducted in 2024, the 30GW offshore wind project is set out to be completed by 2040 and will play a key role in contributing to the development of Norwegian offshore wind as well as the energy transition.
The study will shed light on important vectors regarding the pollution potential of offshore wind development (including value and supply chain), emissions to air and seas, as well as potential differences in various geographical locations, including waste generation and the overall sustainability and circularity potential of offshore wind development.
A team from DNV’s Environmental Risk section, led by Eirik Faeroy Saebo, will conduct the assessment.
