Dutch engineering firm Iv-Offshore & Energy has developed a platform where 500MW of offshore wind energy can be used to produce 85 kilotonnes of hydrogen per year.
The dimensions of such an offshore hydrogen production plant are comparable to the 1.3GW High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) platform Iv-Offshore & Energy designed for the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm, the company said.

Iv-Offshore said it provided the complete design of this offshore hydrogen platform, from the process design and the integration of the electrolyser systems to the Balance of Plant, jacket design and auxiliary systems.
