DWT and its subsidiary OutSmart have secured a five-year operations contract for the 1GW Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan, marking a major milestone in the company’s expansion across Asia.
The agreement covers continuous system monitoring, fault management, and grid operation oversight for the Hai Long 2 and 3 wind farms, which feature 73 Siemens Gamesa 14-222 turbines. The project increases the system capacity monitored by OutSmart’s control centre in Emden, Germany, to nearly 5GW.
The Hai Long project is being developed by Mitsui & Co., Northland Power, and Gentari International Renewables.

This partnership will help ensure the Hai Long Project is operated to the highest international standards while creating long-term value for Taiwan.”
DWT Taiwan country manager Hao-Wei Chiu said: “The Hai Long Project is still under construction, so the scope of service provided by DWT will also grow steadily in line with the progress of construction and the increasing responsibility for the turbines. This means that we will not only be ideally positioned to provide field service in Taiwan. Together with the local team and support from Emden, we are also excellently positioned to fulfil the requirements of comprehensive system and grid monitoring all the way up to asset management.”

DWT said its Taiwan operations are expanding with additional staff and control room capacity, supported by OutSmart’s long-established expertise in real-time offshore monitoring and asset management.
