EEW has made the last monopiles for Vattenfall’s 605MW Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm off the coast of Denmark.
The 72 monopiles for the project have been manufactured in EEW’s Rostock plant.
Next steps include coating the 66 metre-long foundations, which should be completed by February 2020, according to EEW.
In May 2020, the monopiles will be delivered to the installation site.
They will be loaded by Liebherr’s new 164 metre-high heavy-duty crane.
Kriegers Flak project manager Ian Bremner said, “Vattenfall would like to thank EEW for another project, which has been fully delivered in line with our high expectation of EEW performance up to that point.
“The processing of the 72 monopiles went smoothly and we look forward to the impressive loading work next year”.
EEW chief executive Heiko Mutzelburg said: “We thank Vattenfall for the good professional cooperation in the Kriegers Flak project.
“So far, everything went very smoothly and we are happy that we were able to contribute a part to the project’s success.”
