German manufacturer EEW Group has won a contract to supply all the steel tubes needed for the 84 jacket foundations for SSE’s 588MW Beatrice wind farm off the Scottish coast.
EEW will also produce 208 piles for Seaway Heavy Lifting, which is the main contractor for the offshore wind project.
Six facilities in Germany, Korea and the Netherlands will be involved in the manufacturing, the fabricator said
The assembly of the first pipes started in mid-August and the first deliveries are planned for this month. The piles will be produced through to October, EEW said.
Beatrice is expected to start operating in 2019.
