EEW Special Pipe Constructions (SPC) has loaded the last five monopile foundations at the port of Rostock in Germany for Orsted’s 1386MW Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm, which is located off the east coast of England.
A total of 165 foundations have been loaded by two self-geared vessels and shipped from Rostock to Eemshaven, from where they are then taken to the installation site, EEW SPC said.

Offshore construction work at the installation site started in late summer 2019.
When complete in 2022, the wind farm will be able to meet the electricity needs of up to 1.3 million homes per year.
