UK energy industry recruitment outfit ERSG is teaming up with Taiwan Offshore Windfarm Service Corp (TOWSC) to provide staff for the offshore wind sector on the Asian island.
The parties are targeting supporting construction, commissioning and operation and maintenance.
They will also provide international experts to train and co-work with local personnel in order to increase the localisation of skilled professionals in Taiwan.
TOWSC’s Michael Wang said: “We are delighted to share common views and goals for the human resources development in Taiwan with ERSG for the collaboration and believe it is a way forward to enhance both the quantity and the qualification of local personnel for upcoming offshore wind opportunities.
“The collaboration between TOWSC and ERSG certainly will increase the capabilities of the team that TOWSC has been forming.”
ERSG business manager Jonathan Rickard said: “I am incredibly delighted to strengthen the working relationship with TOWSC to provide highly skilled workers to the burgeoning offshore wind market in Taiwan.
“We see this as a positive collaboration for the emerging markets in APAC and we look forward to embracing the challenges ahead and helping the region realise its goals for the future of renewable energy.”
TOWSC’s major shareholder Taiwan Generations Corp owns the 128MW Fuhai offshore wind farm, and the former company said it is also entitled to a so-called “Right to Match” for the 552MW Changfang and 48MW Xidao developments owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners.
