Norwegian company NorSea Wind has appointed Anders Peter Pedersen as its new chief executive.
Pedersen (pictured) has previously worked for LM Windpower, Suzlon Energy and B&W Volund.
He said: “From Esbjerg, as an energy metropol, we can operate internationally towards an industry that has a global imprint.
“It is clear that we have a large market around the North Sea and Northern Europe in general, but it is in a large international market we can take advantage of the unique properties that exist because we are part of both NorSea and the Wilhelmsen group, which together, invest significantly in offshore wind.
“I look forward to being part of NorSea Wind, a company that has started a journey, where I have to go in and build on.
“We are on the shoulders of large companies, which allows us to trade on a large scale, and this is important in a market that is just growing.
“We have gathered the right skills in relation to the tasks that are waiting for us, and therefore I have accepted this new challenge.
“With our location in the middle of a green energy hub, we are ready for growth, and that is the direction NorSea Wind is moving towards.”
Last week, compatriot company Wilhelmsen Ship Management took a 50% stake in NorSea Wind, which in has bases in Esbjerg and Hamburg.
