Chinese company Ming Yang Smart Energy has completed the first nacelle for a 10MW offshore wind turbine.
The MySE8-10MW series anti-typhoon machine was produced at the company’s Mingyang Yangjiang Smart Manufacturing Centre in Yangjiang, China.
Ming Yang said the first unit was completed at the end of November.
The company also said that the Shanwei Offshore Wind Power Industry Park will be put into production next year.
The facility will include blade manufacturing and blade test bench, as well as assembly and manufacturing of large offshore wind turbines based on the MySE5.5 model up to 12MW.
The centre will also have a turbine testing platform, high-precision transmission chain and automatic hub assembly, as well as smart assembly and integration.
