Wind energy services outfit Endiprev France has completed an installation test for the 480MW Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm at the port of Antwerp in Belgium.
Endiprev said the test had one purpose: to investigate if the T1 and transition piece fit together correctly.
It said: “Over three weeks, the team did every test necessary and thoroughly identified and corrected any deviations encountered.
“They were able to test everything from the structural steel to bolt tightening and cable connections.”
The company added that the test helped to spot any unexpected situations.
Saint-Nazaire will comprise 80 GE Haliade 150-6MW turbines.
Endiprev said that, with the completion of the installation test, the time has come to start installing the project’s foundations and cables.
