The French government has given approval to the switch to Siemens Gamesa turbines from Adwen hardware at the 496MW Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in France.
The project, which is being developed by the Ailes Marines consortium, will now feature Siemens Gamesa 8MW-167 turbines, instead of 8MW Adwen models.
Siemens Gamesa announced in September that it planned to discontinue production of the 8MW Adwen turbine.
The Ailes Marines consortium consists of Iberdrola, RES and Caisse Des Depots.
