The Port of Gdansk Authority has opened a tender for companies interested in leasing land and constructing an installation terminal for the first 5600MW wave of offshore wind farms to built off the coast of Poland.
The port said the deadline for initial offers is 8 June, with the date for final binding offers to be about three months later.
Earlier this month, Poland’s Council of Ministers adopted a resolution changing the location of the planned terminal for offshore wind farms to Gdansk from Gdynia.
More details on that decision can be found in the latest issue of the subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS.
The resolution said that the outer port in Gdansk meets all the criteria of industry investors and will be delivered by Port of Gdansk by 1 June 2025.
Port of Gdansk president Lukasz Greinke said: “We want to meet these expectations, and this can only take place in a public selection procedure.
“Therefore, the Port of Gdansk Authority adopted a resolution to announce a new competition aimed at selecting a lessee interested in landing the sea area within the administrative boundaries of the port.
“We have already received a positive opinion of the supervisory board and published a competition procedure.
“We will create conditions for the installation terminal to be built in the Port of Gdansk.”
