GE has started shipping three 6MW Haliade 150 turbines to the 73MW Fujian Xinghua Gulf offshore wind demonstration project in China.
The components are scheduled to arrive at the project within a couple of weeks. Installation works are planned for later this year.
The contract includes the provision of technical support and two years of operation and maintenance services.
The Fujian Xinghua Gulf project will use turbines from different suppliers.
The demo is being developed by Chinese Fuqing Haixia Generation, a joint venture between China Three Gorges and Fujian Energy.
GE said once the project is finished the company will be the only turbine supplier to have installed turbines in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
