Marine contractor GeoSea has agreed a deal to acquire 100% of offshore wind installation specialist A2Sea.
The Deme company will continue to operate the Danish outfit out of its home country with a focus on its existing activities.
Dong and Siemens have been owners of A2Sea since 2009 but said the company “is no longer within the scope of their core businesses and therefore the divestment came naturally”.
GeoSea managing director Luc Vandenbulcke said: “The activities of A2Sea represent a strong and complementary fit. The combined organisation will be well positioned to provide a broader range of integrated services and solutions to offshore wind energy customers.
He said the acquisition of A2Sea includes “a group of highly skilled and specialised employees”.
The deal is conditional upon authority approval and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2017.
