German authorities have gone to market with an €800,000 contract for wind speed measurement services in one of several future offshore wind zones in the North Sea.
Maritime and hydrographic agency BSH has issued the tender for meteorological measurement and report generation services for the N-6.7 area.
“The decisive factor here is the achievement of reliable ten-minute averages,” said BSH in the tender.
“At the same time, it must be possible to calculate the turbulence intensity based on the individual measurements.”
Prospective bidders have until 2 June to respond. A winner is expected to be start work later that month for a two-year period with a further 24-month option for extension.
N-6.7 is one of several offshore wind zones being brought forward by BSH as part of its future roadmap for the sector, which is due to be finalised shortly.
