Municipal utility Trianel has chosen Gesy Green Energy Systems as sales partner for the electricity produced at the 200MW Borkum West offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
Trianel officially inaugurated the 200MW Borkum West offshore wind farm in early September, although the wind farm has operated at full capacity since mid-July.
The wind farm’s 40 AD 5-116 Areva, now Adwen turbines are expected to produce more than 800 GWh per year.
The utility plans to take an investment decision on a 250MW second phase of the wind farm in 2016.
