Chinese manufacturer Goldwind has completed installation of its 8MW prototype turbine at an offshore wind farm in China.
The company said the GW175-8.0 machines was installed at phase two of the 280MW Xinghua Bay project.

Xinghua Bay is being developed by China Three Gorges and is expected online later this year.
Goldwind unveiled the new turbine last September in Fujian.
The unit underwent testing and certification, followed by a two-month drive test at the company’s facility in Fujian ahead of installation at the wind farm.
