The substation for the 920MW Greater Changhua 2b&4 offshore wind project, off Taiwan, has depart from Singapore.
The offshore substation (OSS) topside is heading to Taiwan’s Port of Taichung, where the jacket has already arrived.
Collaborating with Singaporean supplier Seatrium, Hitachi Energy, and many other suppliers, Orsted completed the structural work for the 3260-tonne topside and the 3137-tonne OSS jacket foundation in just 212 days, setting a new record for the developer.
“Most importantly, our commitment to safety ensured everyone returned home safely, achieving 2.8 million man-hours of zero lost time injuries (LTI)!
“This milestone was achieved thanks to the dedication and hard work of all our colleagues, in collaboration with our supplier, Seatrium.
“We look forward to the arrival of the OSS in Taiwan, ready for installation!” stated Orsted.
