Scaldis has named its in-construction DP2 heavy lift vessel Gulliver as it eyes deployment in European waters next year.
The company said today that it was naming the vessel after Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels. A keel laying ceremony took place in February at the Hong Qiang shipyard near Shanghai.
The 108-metre Gulliver (pictured) is being built by Royal IHC at its shipyards in China. It is expected to be delivered to European waters in the spring of next year.
A pair of Huisman cranes with lifting capacities of 2000 tonnes will feature on the vessel which be used in the installation of offshore wind farms.
