Heerema has begun production of the substation jackets for the 2800MW Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm.
The company held the first steel cutting ceremony for the jackets at Heerema Vlissingen.

Orsted’s Hornsea 3 is being built 160 km off the coast of Yorkshire and is expected to be operational by 2027.
Aibel contracted Heerema Marine Contractors to transport and install two offshore converter stations (OCS) for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm.
In 2022 Aibel secured the contract to deliver two HVDC offshore converter platforms for the project.
Heerema previously completed the installation of Orsted’s Hornsea 2 offshore substations in 2021.
